Juliane Kim is an award-winning, innovative and conceptual visionary with diverse and in-depth branding and identity, content creation, advertising, and art direction experience across print, digital, interactive, event, packaging, and signage.

She leads with a collaborative spirit and brings a story to life from concept to execution, and will draw on interpersonal / communication strengths to provide creative / art direction to writers, designers, illustrators, photographers, stylists, models, programmers, typographers, and event production companies. 

For over two decades Juliane Kim has infused her graphic design practice with a lifetime interest in art, culture and travel.  

She has served as designer and art director for an ad agency, in-house art department, boutique design firm, a wide variety of publications, non-profit organizations and performing artists. This broad range of experience has built on Juliane’s intuitive ability to lead, develop and be a part of a cohesive brand effort, working with teams to create everything from print to digital to events and to tell a story in any visual medium. While Creative Director at DEPARTURES, TRAVEL + LEISURE, and FOOD & WINE, Juliane won a Meredith Excellence Award in 2020 for the best marketing multi-brand program for the Bermuda Tourism Authority. She was also named DEPARTURES Marketer of the Year in 2014.

Juliane successfully and consistently manages projects from start to finish and has deep experience communicating with clients and colleagues; budgeting and researching assignments; creating timelines; generating concepts and designs for projects; giving creative direction to writers, art directing designers, illustrators, stylists, and photographers; and overseeing final production.

She graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and took advantage of art classes at the nearby Rhode Island School of Design. She has also taken graphic design courses at the University of Michigan and the School of Visual Arts.

Juliane lives in Brooklyn where she enjoys painting, going to the garden, museum, and taking walks with her husband, daughter and French bulldog. In another lifetime, Juliane was part of a band called Princess, and played the violin and sound gizmo with a performer called My Robot Friend, and now she and her daughter are BTS ARMY.
